Starting from Larroque-Toirac, nestled at the foot of its cliff and dominated by its castle, the route follows the Lot River. The flat terrain soon gives way to the first challenge: a climb to the heights of Saint-Pierre-Toirac to reach the plateau. The terrain quickly becomes more pronounced, alternating between singletracks, white tracks, forest paths, and more technical sections. Crossing toward Gréalou marks a change of scenery. The terrain here is very runnable as you head toward the dolmens of Pech Laglaire and Super Cayrou—the heritage highlight of the circuit, as these sites are UNESCO-listed. The descent to Montbrun at the end of the route, followed by the balcony return above the Lot, forms another highlight. The landscape opens onto the river’s meanders, cliffs rise again, and the mineral atmosphere of the start gradually returns. This large loop packs it all in: characterful villages, panoramic balconies, wild valleys, technical sections, and flowing stretches. A true condensed experience of the causse and the valley—demanding, yet rewarding.
